HOW TO APPLY/ENROLLMENT FOR AADHAR CARD?

Aadhar Card is very important identification document for Indian residents. Well, it is not a proof of citizenship. But it is an official  proof of identity and address. It consists of 12 digits random number for every individual. UIDAI is the government agency that looks after the functioning of this unique identification system.

The enrollment of Aadhar card is pretty simple and free of cost. That’s why, everyone should get it, irrespective of current documentation.

Before we dive into procedure details, you must know what documents are needed for enrollment. As said earlier, Aadhar card is the official proof of identity and address. It means we need documents which will justify your identity and address. Sometimes, the same document is a proof for both. You must bring the original documents to the enrollment centre. If you are minor, then you can apply for Aadhar card on the basis of parent’s documents. In this case, proof of relation is also mandatory.

Enrollment For Aadhar Card

  • First of all, you need to visit authorized Aadhar Card enrollment centre nearby. You must bring the original documents as proof of identity and address.
  • Get the Aadhar card application form from the centre. You can download it from UIDAI website too. It is advised to download and fill it before visiting the enrollment centre. So, your time can be saved!
  • Once you have submitted the form, the officials will take your photo, fingerprints and iris scans.
  • On successful submission of form and scans, you will get the acknowledgment slip. You need to keep this slip save until you get the original Aadhar card!
  • On completion of verification, you will receive SMS and email first. Then, via post, you will receive original Aadhar Card!
